If water could speak, it would tell the story of her art, chaotic yet serene, intimate yet epic. As Rogers herself notes, “Water has always been my language. It remembers everything, the rise and fall of tides, the echoes of creation, the rhythm of our hearts.”
The evening unfolded less like a traditional gallery opening and more like stepping into one of Rogers’ underwater dreams. Guests moved from piece to piece, mesmerized by figures seemingly caught mid-ballet beneath a sunless ocean, bodies and light entwined in a baroque dance of shadow, emotion, and story. Rogers, a Sony Open Photographer of the Year, has long been celebrated for transforming water and light into otherworldly realms. She has captured stars like Zoe Saldana, Sigourney Weaver, and Kate Winslet for a James Cameron–Disney collaboration supporting The Nature Conservancy, and her work has graced Apple’s Shot on iPhone campaign and the Lavazza 2021 Calendar. But on this night, accolades and celebrity took a backseat to the spellbinding intimacy of her art.
